Our thought process on going about publicly promoting this event for Women of Distinction is going to be completely different than the standard way one would go about promoting any other event. Due to the 200 individuals expected to attend will all receive a personal invitation. However, even though this event is not open to the public there is still a lot that can be done on our part to ensure that we are doing everything we can to inform the public of not only who exactly the Women of Distinction organization is, but what this event is all about and the impact it has.
1. The first way we have brainstormed for promoting this event for the Women of Distinction is to first make a mass email list to have on file to keep their preexisting target market up to date on what they are up to all year round and detailed updates on the big event.
2. Another great way we plan to promote is by appearing on local Greenville news channels such as WITN and local radio broadcasts such as Pirate Media Group or WNCT. We see this as one of the most effective yet simplest ways to go about promoting an event like this one. Like the email blast, this idea does not cost the organization anything in promotional expenses.
3. Marketing to the public as to who we will have speaking at this event is a great way in which we plan to ensure that everyone that everyone who was invited is in attendance. Having someone that is relevant to the Women of Distinction is fantastic tool to make certain the individuals that are invited to this event are excited about attending, so much that they willingly advertise to their friends and maybe even telling their Facebook friends about this special event.
4. Social media goes without saying is now more than ever present in just about everyone’s personal lives. We recognize this very thing, so much so that we recommend for the Women of Distinction to have in place their own Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook page devoted to keeping the invited attendees up to date on where they are in the planning process of the event. We suggest that one person is responsible for their social media updating it at least once a day. Using a few of these social media’s to even show behind the scenes of all the planning and what all goes into planning an event like this one
5. Using key marketing and promotional tools like using word of mouth is time and time again overlooked. However, we believe that through our sheer volume of sponsors we will have in place this year, using them to our advantage would be a mistake and a overlooked advertising opportunity. By simply giving them the information they need to be able to effectively tell their client base about this organization with posters, pamphlets and flyers advertising for this organization would be incredibly easy for them to want to bring up to their customers in a conversation.
